SIX WIVES AT SUDELEY
Tudor
An exhibition of original Tudor costumes associated with David Starkey’s TV series “The Six Wives of Henry VIII” celebrates Sudeley Castle’s royal connections with the King and his six wives – three of whom played a part in the Castle’s life. Henry VIII himself owned Sudeley throughout the whole of his reign and it later became home to his sixth wife, Katherine Parr.
Jane Stuart-Brown, the costume designer for the Starkey series, created this unique display of the glorious royal robes of the King and his Queens which is set amidst a collection of the Castle’s Tudor treasures, including relics of Katherine Parr and rare items bought at the 1842 Strawberry Hill Sale - all of which help to capture this important period of Sudeley’s history.
